Scottish mezzo-soprano Catriona Morison, based in Berlin, gained international recognition in 2017 when she won both the Main Prize and the Song Prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of theWorld competition. Since then, she has established herself as a versatile artist with a broadrepertoire ranging from Baroque to late Romantic music—on opera stages as well as inconcert and recital performances.

From 2016 to 2018, she was a member of the ensemble at Oper Wuppertal, where she developed key roles such as Charlotte (Werther), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Cherubino (Lenozze di Figaro), and the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos). Guest appearances have taken herto renowned houses such as the Hamburg State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Cologne Opera,and Bergen National Opera, as well as important festivals like the Salzburg Festival and theEdinburgh International Festival.

As a concert soloist, she debuted at the BBC Proms with Elgar’s Sea Pictures and has sinceperformed works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Mahler, and Verdi, as well as songsby Alma Mahler and Chausson with great expressiveness. Mahler holds a central place in herrepertoire—she performed his Second Symphony on four continents within a single season.

Her established and emerging artistic partnerships include Yannick Nézet-Séguin, SemyonBychkov, Fabio Luisi, Jakub Hrůša, Jaap van Zweden, Ádám Fischer, Elias Grandy, TarmoPeltokoski, and Jonathan Nott.

Morison remains deeply connected to art song and regularly appears in recitals at WigmoreHall, the Vienna Musikverein, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Heidelberger Frühling festival. Her latest album, ECHOES, recorded with Katharina Konradi and Ammiel Bushakevitz, was released on the AVI label.
