"Richter's voice has a warm, sensuous sound that is multi-dimensional, without heaviness, with impressively effortless breath control" (BBC Music Magazine, "Brahms with character and chemistry" October 2022).

Anna Lucia Richter is a welcome guest as a concert and opera singer worldwide. Recently she has worked with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst (Bach's St. Matthew Passion) and sang frequently under the baton of Teodor Currentzis with MusicAeterna, including in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito, as Zerlina at the 2021 Salzburg Festival in Mozart's Don Giovanni and on tour with works by Gustav Mahler. She has also appeared regularly with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Bernard Haitink, Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini, the Orchestre de Paris and Thomas Hengelbrock, the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Philippe Herreweghe, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the baton of Iván Fischer. With these ensembles, she has made repeated guest appearances at major festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, the BBC Proms in London, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, or as "Artist in Residence" at the Rheingau Music Festival 2018, as well as at the Kölner Philharmonie 2018/2019.

The artist has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. Most recently, her debut mezzo-soprano album "Brahms-Lieder" earned her an Opus Klassik nomination as Singer of the Year.

In the spring of 2020, the artist initiated a change of voice type to mezzo-soprano under the mentorship of Prof. Tamar Rachum, who has been her authoritative teacher ever since. This was an important step that opened up new opportunities for the artist worldwide. In March 2021, for example, she gave a brief guest performance of Mahler's Wunderhorn Lieder under the baton of Ádám Fischer in Düsseldorf, and in 2022 she interpreted the alto part of Mahler's Second Symphony with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Jakub Hrůša in Bamberg, Vienna and Baden-Baden, as well as Mahler's Third Symphony with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under Iván Fischer.

In the season 23/24 great projects are coming up: she will perform Beethoven's Missa Solemnis for the first time with the Munich Philharmonic under the baton of Ph. Herreweghe before returning to the Cologne Opera to sing Idamante in Mozart's Idomeneo in a new production and the Composer in Strauss' Araidne auf Naxos later in the season in Venice. Chamber music appearances follow in Heidelberg, Boswil and Alicante, as well as Bruckner's F minor Mass with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Schubert's A-flat Major Mass with the Dresden Philharmonic and Mozart and Haydn arias with the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra under the baton of F.X. Roth.

She also had a change of voice type in the opera field: She made her debut at the Cologne Opera in December 2021 as Hänsel in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel under the baton of F.X.Roth. In early 2023, she was acclaimed for the title role in Offenbach's La Périchole at the Theater an der Wien, and shortly after sang Sesto in the new production of Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto in Cologne.

In the Lied field, Anna Lucia Richter has appeared with extensive repertoire in all the major Lied destinations, including the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Schubertiada Vilabertran, Rheingau Music Festival, Heidelberger Frühling, New York's Park Avenue Armory, Carnegie Hall or Wigmore Hall London, accompanied by pianists such as Sir Andás Schiff, Mitsuko Uchida, Igor Levit, Michael Gees, Gerold Huber and Ammiel Bushakevitz. In the searson 23/24 she can be heard with the program "Wunderkinder" in Hitzacker, Hindsgavl and Essen. A current focus lies on recitals with the program "Licht!" ("Light!"), sponsored by the German Music Council and Neustart Kultur. (800 years of German art song plus masterclass), which she developed together with Ammiel Bushakevitz and performs in Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Cologne, Dortmund, Granada, Madrid and Amsterdam, amongst others. This program was released as a new CD on the CHALLENGE label in the fall of 2023.
