Ammiel Bushakevitz was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied in Berlin, Leipzig, and Paris with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Alfred Brendel.

The Israeli, American, and South African citizen performs regularly across Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. He has given concerts at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Philharmonie de Paris, Shanghai Concert Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Konzerthaus Berlin, as well as at festivals in Salzburg, Aix-en-Provence, Bayreuth, Lucerne, Cape Town, Milan, Heidelberg, Vancouver, Oxford, Tel Aviv, Melbourne, Beijing, Montreal, and Jerusalem.

With a particular passion for art song, Ammiel Bushakevitz was one of the last private students of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He is considered one of the leading song pianists of the younger generation and performs with singers such as Dame Felicity Lott, Christian Gerhaher, Anna Lucia Richter, and Thomas Hampson. As a soloist and song accompanist, he has won numerous international competitions, including in London, Paris, Stuttgart, Berlin, Vienna, and Montreal.

His recordings include numerous award-winning releases on labels such as Harmonia Mundi, Pentatone, Berlin Classics, BIS, Gramola, Solfa, and Hänssler Classics.

Ammiel Bushakevitz is the Artistic Director of the international artists' association Les Voix d'Orphée, a member of the Société des Arts Sciences et Lettres de Paris, an honorary member of the Richard Wagner Association, and an Edison Fellow of the British Library, London.
