Louise McClelland Jacobsen

© Rasmus Kongsgaard

We are delighted to welcome the young Danish-New Zealand soprano Louise McClelland Jacobsen to the KSGasteig family of artists!   Her lyrical, radiant, perfectly controlled soprano voice with brilliant high notes, a unique velvety tone, and excellent diction enables her to perform a wide repertoire and makes her ideal for music ranging from Mozart to Richard Strauss. As the child of a musical family, she is a thoroughbred musician who also has a special affinity for contemporary music, is exceptionally likeable and full of energy. Her commitment to song singing, with a focus on several Danish composers, is particularly exciting.

After her time at the Copenhagen Opera Studio, she remains closely associated with the house (with her role debut as Norina/Don Pasquale), but will be engaged for the 25/26 season on a part-time contract at the Semperoper in Dresden, where she will make her debut as Pamina, Gretel, and Gerda (in Abrahamsen's Snow Queen).

We are particularly looking forward to this collaboration in general management – your contact persons here are Tibor Brouwer, also new to the Artists' Secretariat, or Verena Vetter.
