Finnish conductor Pietari Inkinen is recognized internationally for his expressive artistry and technical mastery. He has led many of the world’s leading orchestras, including The Cleveland Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

Richard Wagner’s music plays a central role in Inkinen’s work. In 2023, he conductedDer Ring des Nibelungenat the Bayreuth Festival. Earlier, his performances of the cycle at Opera Australia in Melbourne earned him the 2014 Helpmann Award and the 2016 Green Room Award for Best Opera Conductor. His operatic engagements have also taken him to the Finnish National Opera, Théâtre de la Monnaie, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Semperoper Dresden, where he conducted a new production ofEugene Onegin.

Inkinen has held chief positions with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra, and the KBS Symphony in Seoul. A talented violinist as well, he studied with Zakhar Bron at the Cologne University of Music before continuing his conducting studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
