Anna Lucia Richter has won the Vocal Award at the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2026 for her recording Mahler – Songs of Fate, released on Myrios Classics.
The album, recorded with the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln under conductor Jordan de Souza, features works from Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Kindertotenlieder by Gustav Mahler.
Previously named “Recording of the Month” in December 2025, the release was praised for Richter’s strikingly expressive and intimate performance. Critics highlighted her unique blend of naturalness and artistic sophistication, noting that her voice “seems to come from another dimension.” The sensitive accompaniment by the orchestra under de Souza further enhances the recording’s distinctive character.
